Take a guess what I’ve just seen,
Out there in the woods pristine,
Feeding birds my daily task,
No more happiness could I ask,
Deep in the woods, deep in the snow,
Little did I know?
There was a bird all right,
Sort of awkward in its flight,
Barely lifted off the ground,
As if its weight to earth were bound,
Now I know it’s darn cold,
Does often freeze, what I must hold,
Often now this thing it bothers,
It happens too, to others,
But out there in the woods alone,
Only here and there a tree or stone,
Gad, its just too much pressure,
Can’t easy make relieve a pleasure,
Zippers that don’t work, and too much cloth,
Leave not much time, to be a sloth,
But then relieve, dear me what joy,
Until this lady cute and coy,
It’s so nice to see all these birds out here,
And nice to come so near,
Well I thought in guilt and shame,
Darn it all wherefrom this dame,
But you know I never learn,
More quiet places to discern,
Still the woods now calm and white,
Not another soul in sight,
Oh yes, as I was saying just before,
This bird she’ll see no more.©02/01/2010
