Even if you go your own way, if heaven wants you, you'll get there.

This lonesome nowhere highway sign,
In trampled, dusty, desert plain,
In brief, exigencies define,
Water, five miles left,
Heaven, or hell, if you decline,

Sinister, I thought, such bait,
Nowhere else to go,
Such choices make ones fate
I took a chance and travelled straight,
To see what it would show,

Wretched thirst, the body’s yearning,
But the soul it pulls me yonder,
All is fire all is burning,
Had I turned, without discerning,
Then, into hell did blunder?

An angel wing brought shadows nigh,
I languished there a while in peace,
So I ask her, did I die,
She smiled, I suckled you, she said,
Heaven, had I found, do miracles ever cease?©04/01/2010

I agree with John, Jasmin--this is a warm, positive write. It also is a testimony to how God and his angels carry us through difficulties..........Jerry

Your "...Even if you go your own way, if heaven wants you, you'll get there..." is open to discussion, cos, the Great Pal in the skies still cheats when playing chess with me and I wonder if it is only to get on winning that Him wants me up there...
