Alive and well this Sunday morn,
Another day reborn,
My, my, another day, another week,
Your consciences give another tweak,
Another chance you get,
Don’t know how long, you bet,
Playing it for all it’s worth,
But then, you picked that horse,
Didn’t you, not listen to your trusted friend,
You’ll rue it in the end,
He told you how to live and love,
He had it straight from the above,
Na, it just don’t work,
Telling him your human, just another dork,
Forgive me, but I’m born to sin,
For lack of luck, I cannot win,
You have a ringing in your ear,
Effort, more effort dear,
You must think, it is just you,
But I do, have more to do,
Dodo, is the word,
If you think of me, of me make sport,
Sin all you want, right to the end,
Then cry forgiveness my dear friend,
Hear me well and hear me good,
Live more often, as you should,
I might consider you, my friend,
When comes the time, and comes your end.
Selfish prayers, oh yes they’re fine,
But most of them, I will decline,
But living right, should be your prayer,
It adds the most important layer,
The beggar on the street,
The bird you give a treat,
The harmed you salved their wounds their hurt,
The least among us, you have heard,
That my friend, what in the end,
You lesser evils will defend,
But sin on purpose as you do,
Knowing you, I will eschew,©17/01/2010
It adds the most important layer
Amen, Amen, Amen!
