The killing fields are glistening,
Blood red, the sea, the ice cold heart,
In agony their cries, is anyone listening,
Feeling for a mother’s child,
Why you ask, the killing,
Why the little seals, for money of course,
Is it an alliance of the willing?
Yes, it fills their purse,
Thank Christ they don’t yet pay,
A thousand for a baby’s hide,
But yet, still, might come that day,
Would they still the law abide,
If common though an industry,
Soon the laws would change,
If, the taxman, could charge a fee,
One time killing seals were strange,
Killing is killing, is it not?
Answer, the question wills,
Does that put you on the spot?
Your soul and mind it grills,
Fancy words we’ve invented,
To still our conscience fright,
When killing is intended,
We use our cruel might,
A necessity you say, we have to eat,
A bowl of rice, just good for monks,
We need a daily plate of greed,
No matter if it squeals or honks,
Organ meats and special treats,
A harvest of riches behind knifed walls,
Some their heart still beats,
My death, another day it stalls,
But then when the day is near,
The hour has come, the knife unsheathed,
You then feel their fear,
You on them bequeathed,
Slaughter, fishing, hunting, etc is killing,
And all the other inventive words we use,
With enormous greed our plates are filling,
God’s creatures do abuse,
A child each one, they are, of the same creator,
Don’t bother me, with the morals of Cain,
You behave like some swamp gator,
Put all humanity to shame.©19/01/2010s

Too disturbing to even contemplate this mindless slaughter. Keep saying it...perhaps ignorance and greed will listen to your fine voice some day...
In hope and solidarity,
