Ring around the Rosie,,,or ring around a tree, if we carry on the way we do, it'll be ring around the sea

A leaky life raft we are in,
In rough and heavy seas,
Water rising to our chin,
Is dancing at our knees,

Some are shooting to the stars,
Others praying to their God,
Plenty think it just a farce,
Hide in their abode,

An ark, something ancient, something new,
To drift among the stars,
Plenty firework it spews,
Enough to get to Mars,

Memories will fly along,
Of that, this is no more,
Of ancient texts we’ll sing our song,
A place of ancient lore,

Fragrances still will fill our heart,
Of roses bloom and Jasmine white,
Of all that we were part,
Long before that ancient flight,

Will we forget that tragic end?
What loveless greed, all tore apart,
A tear that would not mend,
Broke Gaia’s womb and heart,©15/06/2010

Great range here, Jasmin, and rich depth of feeling and understanding of our present condition.

A poem that speaks directly to the heart...and the heart must be broken, sadly.

Cheers with failing hope,

A strangely musical but somehow beautiful paean hymn to our leaking life-ship Earth. I love the intra-sentence rhymes. So apropos right now. May we find a way to "plug those leaks!"

Gaia has no doctor
She'll mend herself without a fuss
The only question that remains
When she finishes her own repairs
Will she choose to include us
Doubt it.

Desperate times My Friend, well portrayed in your poem.

Gaia's womb, and heart, and soul, are truly broken, today. And yet, so many modern day human beings are completely deaf, dumb, and blind to Her plight. And I very sadly believe that they will never see the light, until it's much too late.
