Invited for an other protest, and another, and another,..... can't go to them all, and I am getting weary, still the little kittens and puppies, held in cages behind imposing walls and fences for the cruel testing labs, for the drug companies, etc, can they hear a mere twenty cry for them outside those thick cement walls, could the hear a hundred, maybe ten thousand, crying for them, or maybe they'd hear a pen scratch, a pen from politicians, or a prime minister, or president, outlawing such practices, maybe all practices that are cruel to innocent creatures. If you have ideas pass them on remember most of them have been done, including walking naked on the streets, rescuing creatures and burning down barns, etc, etc, etc, etc, ...........ad infinitum sadly no results....

I’ve reached a point of frustration,
It really bothers me,
It is not a new sensation,
When so much cruelty I see,

I dress in garbs and carry signs,
Shout slogans hard and laud,
Take insults of many kinds,
From passer-by and crowd,

I question all now that I do,
To hopefully affect a change,
But if I told you true ,
It takes far more the world to rearrange,

Those brave souls ten or twenty,
Stand alone, and lonesome,
Well wishers too are plenty,
But what happens, when all is said and done?

That’s where I am stuck and dismayed,
Is it really the best way to make things change,
No answers have I found of late,
My energies to rearrange,

Still waiting those behind sealed walls and fences,
Tortured prisoners, innocent of crime,
When will the world come to its senses?
To participate decline,

Millions should be marching in the streets,
Then maybe, maybe then, those in power,
Will make laws that kindness meets,
Make the world more sweet than sour,

It’s not that the world doesn’t know what’s going on,
It’s all next door to us, under our noses,
Little creatures being tortured far too long,
What will you say; when some judge that question poses?

I didn’t know, where I have heard that song before,
Oh yeah it was right next door,
Records had they by the score,
I guess, I best protest some more.© 22/07/2010

When we are called, we can never give up, therein lies the nature of sacrifice. You go because it's what you are. Never give up, Jasmin....Jerry

Frustration indeed. But I'll bet you have one of the clearest consciences on the planet, and when your not fretting about that which you can nudge, but not move, you can sleep at night in peace. Patrick

Jasmin, even millions do not seem to make a difference my friend. In the peaceful noble protests you participate in or in the peaceful noble protests others participate in for a multitude of other causes. Is it not totally disheartening when the reality of that situation hits you? It often seems that only violence begets change. What a sad commentary for mankind. May you always know love, peace and joy. Jon Michael

I know the feeling all too well, my friend. The atrocious list of animal cruelties seems to be getting bigger every day now, and we just don't have enough people who even give a damn.

You have more guts than I do, going to any protest, even one is one more than I go to, ever...good for you...Ed

Don't give up, Jasmin, don't give up, the cause is just and noble.
Animal testing especially for cosmetics is barbarous.
