Incense, gold and myrrh,
Is all they had to give?
Such, His birth, their hearts did stir,
Travelling the sands of time,
A promised star they followed,
A promised holy sign,
With creatures round a bed of straw,
There lay this promised sign of God,
A naked bundle sweet and raw,
Blushed of rich abundance frail,
Humbled in their admiration,
All gifts of riches they would fail,
Still following, this star in time,
This barefoot sandaled God,
Made water into wine,
He healed the sick and raised the dead,
Brought hope, and love form God,
Upon Himself, our sins then took instead,
Should a gift we have to give,
On this, most holy day,
It should, the way our lives we live,
A present give him, borne of love,
Our souls, no greater gift, there be,
Halleluiah we should sing to allmighty God above.©16/12/2010
