From the qassabah I was thrown.
In the wilderness to roam,
To find my God, my own,
To the Ghetto I did hail,
With the loudest did I did wail,
Oh God! But soon enough it felt like jail,
In Buddha’s monastery,
Not long there did I tarry,
None of them did marry,
The Christian God I sought,
Was told to pray, I ought,
But Christ I never caught,
The Hindus and their creatures,
Had Gods of many features,
And Gurus they called teachers,
Philosophers I met and heard,
Some made sense, some were absurd,
Sort of like an ancient nerd,
Frustrated soon my search to tame,
And thought of it a shame,
I not all their laws could name,
Into the desert, I did wander,
And there upon the yonder,
A mirage of light and thunder,
In city of old Tyre,
A girl that played the lyre,
She lit my heart on fire,
Then when she played the flute,
It put me in the mood,
For God’s, not gave a hoot,
Dance I did, to please her heart,
Round and round from end to start,
Then swore we’d never part,
Still dance I do today,
My Goddess still does play,
Her love, my heart holds sway,
Like a dancing Dervish,
If dancing is her wish,
My God! She is a dish,
Together now, we dance and play,
To tunes of heaven, do we sway,
To paradise we found our way,
A million there, of us you’ll find,
The dancing dervish of our kind,
Unless, to love you’re deaf and blind.©04/05/2011

To tunes of heaven, do we sway,
To paradise we found our way
Sounds like you are a very lucky man. Dance On!
Jasmin, and with very interesting insights;
'...sort of like an ancient nerd' hits the spot
for me, ticklish, witty and with a lot of truth.
I like where you go with this and how you see.
Yes!
