Help! Help! Help!
I hear the cries,
Storm clouds gather,
They seem to dance,
Round and round,
The sea, the shore does lather,

Help! Help! Help!
Now, much more intense,
There, pointing fingers,
Over there my friend,
We are here, the cries,
Closer in the air they linger,

Help! Help! Help!
It hurts my heart to hear,
The seas now rising higher,
Frenzied waves cross over,
A whirlpool of emotion,
The cries become so dire,

Help! Help! Help!
Save our souls and yours!
Drowning is the mast,
A raven flies away,
Screams my heart will not forget,
Frozen tall I stand, a ghost,

Help! Help! Help!
A tiny voice within my heart,
I hear it well,
Too late it is, I say,
All is gone, but rising waters,
I stand, as in a spell,

Caw, caw, caw, I hear,
No other sound there is,
Ravens gather on the hill,
No one close, but them,
Darkness everywhere,
Their cries the heavens fill,

Caw, caw, caw,
Thoughts, emotions rise,
The waters near my chin,
A float some wood drifts by,
Noah’s Arc, it reads,
A ship that held my kin,

CAW! CAW! CAW!
And then the hill does disappear,
My senses now adrift,
Emotions drown my thoughts,
Forgiveness do I pray,
No more the CAWS I hear. ©26/10/2011

jasmin, this is paced with urgency and encircled with a lasso of grief -- a plea of gravity seeking mercy that goes unanswered -- I bid you joy, love and peace my dear friend -- Jon Michael

Reminded me of the recent Japanese Tsunami and what those poor folks endured. Attention keeper from start to finish. Patrick

Beautifully written, Jas; took my breath away. But I was not thinking of the rush of foaming seas. rather, peoples of the world "drowning" in their frustrations, homelessness, wars; murders in the streets and homes; dismembered cultures, laws, politicians, hopes. "Caw, Caw, Caw!" The many cries of Help has now become our silence...Yet there is salvation: loving and helping one another and our Earth and its creatures!

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
