Ever had that feeling?

Where are the walls so high?
The towers of the guards,
The iron bars that hold me there,
A prisoner till I die?

The cage that holds my every thought,
A parrot’s mimicry,
A cat that lurks about, I fear,
Keeps me safe, of what I’ve wrought,

The ropes that tie my wrists and mind,
Chafing of the fear to break,
Weary of the freedom near,
The freedom I might find,

Where is the altar that I kneel?
Before I bow my head to pray,
Where, the guardian angels of my mind,
When lost, and misery I feel,

Where is the spirit wing unfurled?
Would give me lift up high,
That let me soar to other worlds,
Beyond the Seeing Eye,

When will the questions that I ask,
Fulfill my quest that deep within,
To be, that all I am,
Then be at peace at last.©28/12/2011

You bring up thought-provoking questions, Jasmin. Thank you for sharing this timeless and universal theme (quest). Love and peace to you,

Well expressed mental frustrations, Jasmin...easy to relate to your questions. Can you break through? Sometimes it takes just a little action...something you have never done before...to take you out of those walls. I do know those walls very well, too. The answers may await us in the great beyond.

love,
Gina

I've been asking myself the very same questions..seems you and I are looking in the same direction..

The worst prisons are always of our own making.
Akin I guess, to Hell on Earth.
Well done reflective piece.

I think we all become prisoners of our own minds if we allow ourselves to. And I hope you find your Spirit Wing again soon.

Are there any worlds beyond the Seeing Eye?
One could do worse than set one's gaol so high.

Good to see someone probing the depths.

That's the one prison where you've get a reasonable chance of escape. No guards to bribe except your own suspicion and hesitation. You can always muzzle the parrot and I'm pretty sure cat makes a pretty good stew, for that, I think you might give up your vegan vows temporarily. American airlines has tickets on sale but I can't speak much for their spirit since they charge for baggage. On the other hand it sounds the perfect opportunity to lose some baggage. Think of what you'll save, up to and including yourself. Be well Patrick

Take some time to walk outside of your own mind and into another, walk slowly and carefully; the mind that you step on might be your own.
