The poisoned brew we stew, in Karma will renew

Close I held it, oh, so close,
Tears were welling in my eyes,
This little creature of the crows,
In agony, I hear its cries,

Its precious eyes so dark and blue,
Pained and scared they spoke to me,
A question did they asked, what did I do?
But soon would close, no more to see,

In pain it jerked its body rough,
Its head held back to cry for help,
I prayed, please take it lord it had enough,
My begging heart in pain did yelp,

My fingers softly stroked its head,
At least some love it would have known,
For soon its eyes would close and it be dead,
This baby still, that should have grown,

No medicine I had, would help it live,
A stronger force, had power more,
To earth, this little thing its wings would give,
This precious soul, be here no more.©28/07/2012

It's unclear, but I think you elevated bird that had been poisoned. Man often forgets that killing creatures to protect often has dire consequences.
