Such innocent souls

How on earth did we get there?

Barely there is a space that’s bare,

Barely a space to spare,

Barely a space to share,

Under an apple tree,

That’s where it started,

As we from paradise departed,

There, religiously,

Did no one listen?

The same old, same old,

That’s what it seems, despite the scold,

To stop the kissing, kissing,

Etc, etc, on and on it goes,

Can we, humanity not see?

Maybe, a common enemy,

Some inside, outside, alien foes,

Male or female of the sexes,

Guilty are implicitly,

Don’t you see?

Or might it be a spell from hexes?

Well, cheek in tongue, or whatsoever,

Come on folks give it a rest,

Are we with brains not blessed?

Not take pride in being clever,

Gee, I can hear it loud and clear,

All the objections brought about,

Screaming at me very laud,
