It was on July 23 1892

That Lidj Tafari was born & prophesy came true

The child was born who shall be a councilor to the fold

Even though his mother died when he was 18 months old

And by the time he was 13 his father was stiff and cold

This was the David’s seed with the government on his shoulder

By 1906 at age 13 he was the governor of Gara Muleta

By 1910 he ruled Sellalie, Sidamo, and Harrar as governor

He governed with wizeness and justice in law & order

On July ten nineteen eleven he married marvelous Waizero Mennen

Menelek died and a new king was chosen

It was Lidj Yassu Haile Sellassie I Cousin

But Ethiopia wouldn’t follow the path he had taken

All the sacred traditions he had broken

So from Lidj Yassu the throne was taken

Zaditu Menelek’s daughter was crowned as Empress

Promoted in 1916 from Dejazmatch to Ras

Rastafari was second only to the Zaditu the new Empress

He build hospital & schools leading the country to progress

In 1922 to Ethiopia he invited Marcus Garvey & company

Then let Ethiopia join the league for collective security

In 1924 he visited several European countries

Zaditu’s husband tried to kill His Ivine Majesty

 But the Lion hath prevail and Jah had the victory

1928 Rastafari was promoted from Ras to Negus of the country

Zaditu died and Negus Tafari was crowned 1930

As Haile Sellassie I Power of the Trinity

In 1935 Rome was at it again

Pope Pious XI on a killing campaign

Rome had superior guns, tankers and aeroplane

But still they find that they fought in vain

So from their planes they made poison gas rain

Poisoning land, water and people in the hills, valleys and plain

So May 5^th the king left Ethiopia on a train

To Europe and started a moral & political campaign

And to the League of Nations he lodge his complain

The action they should take was straight and plain

But they did nothing to ease Ethiopia’s pain

Haile Sellassie told them “today its us but tomorrow you will feel the pain”

And world war two made Europe red with blood stain

In 1941 Rome fell to the right of Ethiopia

Hail the Gideon force and the Lion of Judah

Jah went on to make Ethiopia a modern wonder

Modern Ethiopianism was his agenda

He form the OAU fi unite Africa

He supported and trained many a freedumb fighter

Like Mugabe, Mandela and Nkrumah

Behold the Messiah in the Political arena

Who put Equal rights and justice pon di UN agenda

This got to be the messiah in his Kingly Character

King of Kings conquering to conquer

Now InI Rastafari is the one wid the scepter
