Silly Love Poems

I’ve become a caricature
is that my shadow?
—pretty words chasing myths

I’ve become unstable
as only madness remains
—reason pursuing reality

I’ve tried to be true
yet I betray myself
—lies stealing truths

Are all these lovely words
just frosting on ugly?

I painted it so beautifully
it’s faded and yellowed
—colors not as bright

I loved with blind faith
believing in it’s power
--heart naïve to sorrow

What a fake I was
to ever think love mattered

I’ve become a caricature
and ugly was the word
—mask covered truths

My myth on my mantel
there hides my legacy
—a caricature of beauty
