Just had a need to write about how I feel.

My Opinion
This messed up country we live in,
I can clearly remember when,
just a few short years ago, I could foresee
that this is exactly where we would be.
It is really worse than I prophesized
maybe because I couldn’t realize
it could get as bad as what I see before my eyes.
It sure doesn’t seem like the good old USA.
I thought and hoped our way of life
was surely here to stay.
The jobs are gone and people feel alone.
They don’t know where to turn
and it really is a huge concern.
The medical help we need
is gone because of other people’s greed.
Our children are hungry and their needs aren’t being met,
I wonder just how much worse our leaders will let it get.
It’s time for us to make some changes
through our given rights, and bring back to our country
some loving healing light.
I guess we people will have to take a stand
because everything has gotten out of hand.
We must stand up for what we need
to heck with all their greed.
We need to get back the things we worked for
and the good things in life we had.
Who cares if we make some rich people mad?
People have worked most their lives to get their good benefits,
but now those things are taken away and it’s driving them to fits.
Some are old enough and should be able to retire
and enjoy life for a while,
but because of losing insurance and survival needs being met
they have to keep on working and keep going that extra mile.
Most older people don’t have any quality of life,
because of all the worry of trying to figure out how they will survive.
Burdens burdens, problems, problems, hardships, hardships, worry, worry,
something good has to come to us and it needs to happen in a hurry.
We need hope, faith, freedom, peace, love, and light.
I pray that all these things are very close in sight.
Why does everything have to be so hard? I know it isn’t God’s will.
Maybe soon, he will show us the way, and there can be happiness still.
I ask that God will hear my words when I ask for his help,
to get us back on the right track,
so for the good things in life we will no longer lack.
I now envision my prayers coming true
and by this time next year
our country will be on its way to being as good as new.
Just wanted to share this information.
I wrote a letter to John Kerry's web address and asked him to read My Opinion poem. I have had many encouraging notes from his campaign and his well known supporters.
Today, I received a message from his campaign saying they read the poem. They stated that it is his his intention to take the country forward rather than backwards in meeting our needs that I wrote about in my poem.
I am glad someone is taking time to listen to our wishes and needs.
I hope he or someone who knows what they are doing, will revive our hope and faith in our country and it leaders and the direction we are taking.
We need and deserve a good leader who wants good for ALL Americans.
