Bedouin Love Poem
You look through the key hole
You gossip to the neighbors
You tell my friend is hungry
He can not wait for me.
From morning to evening
“Come to my house”, he tells me,
I go down, feeling a pang of anguish
And I say: “God have mercy on me”
The neighbors have heard it
And gossiped to my parents
I fear any misunderstanding
Crying, I ask God for help
The tears have softened my cheeks
May God save us from men!
In my dream my friend asked my hand
My father asked for compensation.
