A Story of a Lonely and Disabled Old Man on a Cold Winter Night
The Coldest Night
With its rooms so trim
In his little house of stone
His heart most dim
Mark sat alone
The night was cold
Outside it was dark
To survive and hold
Wouldn’t be lark.
.
A bit of bread
Or a warm bed
To get over the night
To reach the daylight....
Mark full of fear
Thought death was near
He faced his empty cup
Almost to give up.
A sudden noise
Awoke Mark’s hope
And full of joy
He began to cope.
A freezing bird
trying to find its way
Could faintly be heard
Against the wind’s fray.
Without further thought
Grabbing the little joy
Heart’s sadness fought
A place for the bird to stay
.
“How nice to have a home
On such a cold and windy night”;
Mark forgot his own fight
When he saw the bird’s plight.
He cared for his friend
Saving it from a bitter end
Feathers to his chest
Mark tried his best.
Daylight rose,
As in prose,
Shiny and bright
With sun’s light.
Mark forgot his pain
Free of the icy chain
He had been granted
Just what he wanted
THERE IS AN OLD CLICHE' WHICH SAYS...A IDLE MIND...IS THE DEVIL'S WORKSHOP. ONCE MARK FILLED HIS MIND WITH THE ACTIVITY OF TAKING CARE OF THE BIRD...THE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS WERE VASQUISHED...IN OTHER WORDS...GOD SENT THE BIRD TO HELP MARK MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT FOR...'JOY COMES WITH THE MORNING LIGHT'.... THANKS FOR SHARING THIS VIVIDLY CLEAR WORK THAT WAS WRITTEN WELL WITH A STRONG MESSAGE. THANKS FOR SHARING AND GOD BLESS YOU. LOVE, JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
A beautiful story, Emile. Rescuing the little freezing bird gave him both warmth and hope. The bird, too, had to have hope and trust in order to be held and warmed. Very nice!

Aesop couldn't had given us a better description of lesser creature's feelings, a fable? an adage coming from it perhaps? and then...the wonders of the Creation little puzzles falling into place.
