Returning from a long trip in the desert, the son found his mother crying. He asked her: "Mom why are you crying?" She responded: "We are invited to the neighboring village for a wedding and I don't have any present to give". He responded with the poem below. (translated from the Bedouin language)
The Generous Son
I came back sweating
you added fire to the setting
I will ride on my mare
and donate her as my share
She then responded:
"You are the real son of your father"
