Funny... that you would write about distress on a Tuesday... hee, hee... It is usually my day of dismay and demise. :~)
There is still truth within your words though. I once heard about an object lesson in which the teacher passed around a basket and asked everyone to write down their biggest current struggle and put it in the basket. Then she passed the basket around again and had everyone draw out a trial. Almost without exception, each person said they would choose to keep their own trial than to have the other persons...

Makes me remember that philosopher that wondered how poor he was as he munched grass and discovered that behind him was another man eating the grass roots he discarded.
