Do We Need This Too?

Have we not enough problems?
Not enough war and battles?
Do we have enough money
Or rather losing three million
Every single minute?
Should we sacrifice our young men
For a new war - be it in Egypt
Or in Libya or Somalia or Syria?

Then -  in Iraq and Afghanistan
Later – Mubarak, now Kaddafi
And Assad is in the incubator.
And what else, Mr. President?
What is the difference
Between then and now?
Between Hitler and Mussolini
And the present we are witnessing?
People are killed and murdered.
But for what?

In Iraq it took a few weeks
To get rid of Saddam Hussein
In Afghanistan – a few weeks
To chase away the Taliban
And now six months to chase Quaddafi. . .
The same story again and again
Ten years of fighting in Iraq
Ten years in Afghanistan
Now we may need the same time
To fight the Muslim Brotherhood
In Egypt, and ten years to fight
In the desert of Libya with new terrorists

All of this, to create an Arab democracy?
Or to win the next election?
No! Mr. President, with all due respect!
Play golf and let the Arabs play it too.
It is better for us, for them, and for you.
