This is the English version of the French poem "Le Travail"

Work

Work and effort, that’s understood,
Are developing us and make us good
Keep us in best shape and health
Feed us and bring peace and wealth

Let’s be happy that we can work
It makes us human and not a jerk
Work makes us nice and attractive
And will keep us always active

The salary is not always relevant
Bring everyday some happy event
If you want to earn a little more
Be clean and early at the door

You have to wake up and be ready
Work with zeal and be steady
And showing your good disposition
Will get you to a better position

Everyone should follow his own mind
Whether you like it or not – be kind
Work gives you good reason to get up
Enjoy your breakfast and then show up

Work gives us hope, clears our mind
There is no better way we could find
Besides the daily bread, in the long haul
It heals us and brings happiness for all

Now that I am "en retraite" it seems that I am working harder than ever...but it is on my own projects...and enjoying it more. Thank you for an insightful poem.

Omega Factor by John Henning

Take some time to walk outside of your own mind and into another, walk slowly and carefully; the mind that you step on might be your own.
