The talking squirrel

This poem is about how I met a squirrel in my path at a house and he seemed to be talking to me as he perched on his hind legs.

He is so little,
compared to the vast,
green grass on the lawn.

He had been hunting
for a nut.
He then had found it.
He suddenly perched, on
his hind legs, and started
moving his arms, wildly.

It was like he was telling me
a story with his hands.
I imagine he was telling me
the story of gathering the nuts
and then retrieving them.

He made my afternoon!

Delightful read, Retta... I live in the country and see many
of the little squirrels and rabbits and if I'm lucky a deer.
Excellent!

This is absolutely charming, Rebecca! Saw a squirrel this morning when I left our place to go to the library!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your squirrel-lovin' friend in Burleson, Karen Lynn. :D

No damage our way; just a lot of wind and heavy rain! There WAS damage west of us, in Lillian, but we made it okay here in Burleson. :D

The only thing the squirrels around here say is, here comes that stupid dog again, thinks he can climb a tree...LOL! Hope you found the conversation to be as enjoyable as I found your poem to be...Peace, Ed & rufuz

This is really sweet. Wouldn't it be something to really be able to know what the animals are saying...they're probably laughing at us though...lol.
