I am so excited to see you again

Setting you free, so breathe easy

You were my very best friend

Tossing away that box of cardboard

Brushing your faded light brown fur

Even flattened, you are very adored

Wow, you are now just as old as me

Almost forty you should say

Time has gone by, how can that be?

Memories surface when looking at you

Stitched on black round button eyes

A squeaky nose surely still holds true

Whispering secrets in your floppy ears

Holding you so tight under covers

Amazing, it has been several years

Scary monsters and loud thunder storms

Night protector of creepy noises

Holding you kept me safe and warm

We will never throw you away

I will pass you along for safe keeping

Don’t worry, you are here to stay

A special treasure to hold tight with delight

Fuzzy doggie to cuddle and hug with

Security for you each and every night

And when you get older don’t ever forget

To pass him along to your child

He will stay forever as a stuffed family pet

Yes it is sad sometimes the things from childhood that get lost such as a stuffed animal or a fav toy. I was lucky last week, it was my daughters 32 birthday...her stepfather had years ago thrown out her Little Pony Castle which she loved, guess what I found one that someone else had saved bought it and wrapped it for her birthday present. She said it was her best birthday ever because of that.
