"Remnants of You"

I walked out on my deck this morning,
observing the sounds of nature.

So many mornings we spent,
talking, sharing coffee, eating breakfast.

These are remnants of you:

the empty bird feeders,
the home for those sweet humming birds,
the grill not attended,
the chair that is empty,
the brook forever running.

All these bittersweet memories hit me,
With the realization that you are truly gone from my life!

Your spirit, your amazing spirit, is still everywhere here,
reminding me of a truly wonderful and magical love that we shared,
last year.
