"Temptress"

Temptation of soul,
Temptress painting darkness,
blocking the lightness.

Temptation of mind
Temptress whispering taunts,
of darkening thoughts.

Temptation of body,
Temptress erotically soothing,
enticing sensual satisfaction.

Temptation of heart,
Temptress maniacally stealing,
what is left of pure love.

Temptation of life,
Temptress tempting fate,
sliding downward spiril.

Temptation always present,
Temptress always testing,
Temptation never ending.



Author's Notes: Everyone has a temptress, it can be a weakness, a bad habit, a unfulfilled desire, but whatever that temptress is, always remember to let "the light shine in" and the temptation will diminish.......

"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from Evil"

All of you ex-catholics remember this from a prayer we were raised on....There is something to be said of this statement.
I was remembering this prayer today and this poem emerged!
