Dreaming Of Her

by Amber "V" Moonstone

3/04/10

Orbital thoughts of anguish,
surround his mind
as if the weight of the world
is resting squarely on his shoulders.

No words can calm the insanity
that dwells within his solitary existence
Perpetual motion and constant abrasion
occupies most of his hours.

There is no peace
nor light, that can penetrate
the darkness that absorbs his world,
Hopelessness inhabits his thoughts.

Temptation is his torment,
Torn between two worlds,
confused and dazed
wanting relief from his chaos

Seeing both sides of his mind
only brings more confusion
and indecision,
letting fear rule his world.

Each night within stardust moments,
He lets the arms of an angel,
bring light and peace,
into his dreams.

Awakening to the chaotic life he lives,
sends him back to his fearful existence
that spins his mind into a whirlwind
that can only find peace when dreaming of her.

I see myself, here, racing off to sleep quickly--kicking company out of the house in a hurry to bed, and dreams! Thanks for this, it is much deeper than my previous words describe, and I do feel and see the many angles of persona embedded in the writing. You amaze me, Amber.

there are so many types of sorrows in life
it is powerful to read these emotions inside
as if we all know him...but we don't
we know this feeling...

He is fortunate to find such angelic relief in his dreams. I guess if I could look at both my left side brain and right side brain I'd be certifiable. Patrick

Amber, you have such insight into, and empathy with, hearts and minds - as if you can see right into them and absorb their joy or pain, or as if you are a natural interceptor of what's being projected to and from them. These lines in particular stood out for me, but the whole is written with clarity of visoin and with understanding. I love the way your analysis is written: matter of fact yet sensitised by your choice of language - and especially how you conclude with the touchy-feely soft-focus of the dreamscape, covering all the hard-edged detail like a welcome mist. One of your recent bests, I think. xx

Poor feller seems sort of "Cornfused"
Like the king that dreamt every night her was a pauper
And the Pauper that dreamt every night he was a king
The pauper was the happier of both
The king feared each night, to dream once again he'll be a pauper
Love & peace be with you

The pauper

Yes. Dreams can be an escape from a life to hard to deal with, sometimes so much that they spill in to the waking life. Beautiful poem.

This wonderful writing is like a mirror of my being, Amber. I remember dreams vividly. And my dreams are always in the romantic realm. I think as is all of your writings this piece was extremely well crafted. You are a top notch writer.

GOD BLESS YOU
Tony
