Insprired Evening

Cotton candy,
pink and lovely,
streaking the evening sky.
Makes the heart feel ever glad.
Mounds of pink and opal wisps
float serenely over head,
gazing at this marvelous wonder
the sun sets in the west.
Chilling air surrounds the night,
welcoming in the close of summer,
soon it will be sweet September
and lovely fall will gallantly sweep in.
Shadows dance as evening comes,
touching each new thought,
whispering winds tell secrets
of long lost lover's plight.
Trumpets sound and angels weep
for lover's that will never meet,
Testing everlasting love
resounding efforts in defeat.
Silently walking along desolate shore,
waves crash as nightfall all encompass,
solitude of sea and heart,
filled with lover's longing.
