The steady beat of each thump
calls my mind toward the beauty
of love's perfect union.
Steadily, I hear my beats
thumping in unison
with your tender heart.
I lay awake feeling you,
knowing that you are just
a heartbeat away.
Waiting and longing
as I do for a chance
to bring our heartbeats
into rhythmic movement
as if both hearts
beat as one.
Beats of love,
fill each soul,
tenderly cradling each note.
Burning desires ignite,
till each beat becomes
climatically in sync with the other.
Thunderous applause
and the two lovers
climb down from the stage
Only to return once again
to the perfomance
of their lifetimes.
