Hotel Luna

The sound of the mandolin
brings chills to my heart
so lovely, fresh and invigorating.
I am floating in it's melody.

Waves of restlessness wash over me
I am floating in a sea of unease,
spinning like a funnel
being sucked into the depths of the darkness

It's cold and lonely down here
alone floating in a sea of chaos.
Swirling like a tornado
out of control with sweet abandon.

The mandolin plays on,
and the keys of a piano
begin to play in melodies
of unrequited love affairs.

Sending my soul on another journey
toward the nearest starlight express
wandering amongst the galazy
of exotic notions and desires.

The music plays on, dragging me
along for the ride of my life,
reverberating sounds of angel's laughter
reassuring me that I am on the right path.

Tinkling ivorys, strumming mandolins,
touching my soul with the music of the night's
fantasy while soothing my mind's
restlessness and uneasiness of what is to come.

Living in the moment of this night,
renders me helpless to resist
and transports me to a wonderous land
of love and uninhibitations!

Moon and music, mandolin strings plucked no less,
send me on the journey with you, Amber,
lift me out of this dull grey morning here
in the tropics; it's been raining on and off all night
but now there's light - moonlight and sunlight - yours.

Strange duallisms in this poem, Amber... reminds me a bit of those in Eagles Hotel California, but we still all want to go there, right?! Like a rollercoaster ride, it goes up and it goes down: chaos and charisma united yet counterbalanced. It is a very powerful forerunner of what is to come, perhaps, with your Full Moon poem this month: hang onto your hat!! The largest full moon for two decades is predicted as the moon comes closer to earth than it has done for twenty years... You'll be fit to bust!! Love how the mandolin plays you, Luna. Ride on... xx
