I have always believed in never going back, but sometimes, when the timing wasn't right, there can be a second chance..

Second Chance
by Amber "V" Moonstone
3/24/11

I saw the twinkling of the misty stars
rekindling my passion for you.
The night was cold and dark,
my heart warmed by the celestial sky.

Starlight bouncing off the ocean
set my soul soaring
toward the galactic airways
firmly believing in a second chance.

Once you were within my reach
then elusive as a fleeting butterfly.
Now the stars whisper to me
"he's coming back soon."

Can I believe in a second chance?
Does my heart want to open again?
Can my soul be warmed once more?
Will the stars be right this time?

Deeply within my being,
I have always yearned for this chance,
logically thinking
has always said no going back.

How can the stars be wrong?

How can my heart not open?

How can my soul not want my soul mate?

Yes, my second chance is coming.

Good luck but don't be taken in as some have found to be the case.

Amber, This poem took my breath away!!! Things happen like you say and the timing isn't right the first time around. If you love someone set them free, if they come back it was meant to be...Yes!!! A second chance is good!!!Beautiful writing!!! Hugs!~Chessly

If we didn't believe in second chances, Amber,
we'd be a very sorry lot indeed; try and try again
is the only way to liberation and fulfillment.
A fine way of seeing you have.

I think you are right to listen to the whispers of your soul Amber...Intuition is such a powerful thing, and is usually right. We all have learnt to tread with caution however...but..just enjoy the journey!

The guy who coined the phrase, "If at first you don't succeed..."
knew what he was talking about. Well done, Amber. -gene.

Jesus preached second chances. Love was one of the items he spoke on.
Very Nicely done, Viv.

I believe in second chances, in fact I believe we should have as many chances as it takes to get it right as long as we keep on trying to do better.

Intimate and powerful poem and yes, Amber, follow your heart if it comes.
There is so much healing power in love, passion and (dare I say it?) sex. Sometimes the smartest response is to run away but...maybe other times it is to risk everything. xx

Ah, it has happened that second chances work out, but usually those burnt bridges keep popping up in the new relationship even though we try to not bring them up. Burnt bridges. There is a reason for that name. Yep, you can rebuild the bridge, but the image of the one that was burnt lingers, and lingers, and . . .

Good luck with your second chance, I sincerely hope it works.
