dreams bring to your imagination some intensely powerful thoughts and images.
My dream was one of those...

Stardust Dreams
by Amber "V" Moonstone

3/3/12

There was a large brick building,
standing solid for hundreds of years,
It was once a knitting factory,
where yarn and sweaters were made.

I walk into the building,
an eerie sense of emptiness
fills my thoughts,
and I cautiously step forward.

Upon entering the doorway,
there is a large waiting area,
where empty leather chairs
await your comfort.

There is a reception desk,
it is painted in neon colors,
into a design that sets your mind
ablaze in a fog filled state.

I sit and wait my turn,
the woman at the desk calls out names,
one by one each person files into another room,
never to be seen again.

When my name is called,
I look at this woman,
smile and follow the other people.
I am transported into a stardust dream.

I am swept away by a gusty wind,
that permits me to fly on my own,
into a vortex of color and stardust magic.
I feel like Willy Wonka on a chocolate trip.

The ride is complete, the destination is dark
I can smell a forest glen and feel the dampness,
Something touches my cheek,
I am startled, but not afraid.

As I walk farther into the glen,
I can see daylight and beautiful flowers,
stunning rainbows, and warm sunshine.
My mind is racing and my body is still.

I am breathing without breath,
I am seeing without sight,
I am not afraid, I am excited to see
all my dearly departed loved ones.

I have just gone to heaven,
and I don't know if I am alive
or dead, or just dreaming.
I want to know, so I call out What is happening?

No one answers, and I start to cry,
then a child touches my hand,
he is the child that I lost many years ago,
and now I know why I have come here.

I embrace him, and can feel his love,
I tell him that I have missed him so much,
and he smiles and says, I have always been with you,

Now we are together forever.....

I turn to see my funeral, and now I know that,
I have gone to the other side,
to be with my baby boy, and
dwell among a place where stardust dreams are home.

The dreamlike atmosphere is very effectively described, Amber, and it's full of surprises. Interesting twist in the end. To imagine the moment when we are reunited is what gives one comfort after the loss.

this is a fine blending of the ethereal and the concrete, images, senses, sounds complement the narrative in a neural pathway to the spirit that quite literally (as others have mentioned) takes us there! You have an intriguing dreamscape, Amber.

Very vivid, Amber, and I love the intense details which move us through this experience. Taut with emotion, too. Am intrigued by the knitting factory... somehow seems appropriate when we think of all the many hours we spend as mothers, making up our babies' nurseries in readiness for their postnatal homecoming. I am so very sorry for your loss but know that your boy will forever be a very real part of you; together you will be "home at last"! :)) xx
