The dream world comes to life...

Dream Sensations
by Amber "V" Moonstone
3/20/12

It's a bare wall,
darkend by age,
rough to the touch,
but strong and tall.

I approach the wall,
pushing it as hard as I can,
It doesn't budge,
but for an instant it feels shaky.

I stand back to view this barrier,
I feel as though I am being held back,
not able to see beyond this wall,
I must break this wall down.

Next I find myself on top of the wall,
looking down, frightened for my life,
I am so high up, I feel like I am isolated,
never have I been this far up on my own.

I shout out for help,
no one comes, no one hears me,
I am surrounded by a strange warmth,
It feels as though someone is hugging me.

I see no one, but can feel a presence.
Is it my guardian angel?
Or perhaps the arms of my higher power,
I begin to weep and then I feel released.

I slide down the wall to the ground,
I am safe from harm.
I feel the Earth beneath my feet,
it is a comforting feeling.

Next I am running in a field of sunflowers,
they are radiant and tall.
I can feel their warmth
and I know that I am not near home.

I hear some music in the distance,
so I run toward the sounds,
it is a choir singing Ava Maria.
I know this song, it was from my childhood.

My Nana sang it to me at night,
her voice was as sweet as the melody.
I see her standing there,
She opens her arms, welcoming me.

Then I see my grandfather NuNu,
He is smiling at me,
motioning me to follow them,
I walk behind them toward the music.

There is a crowd standing around a fire,
they are singing songs and cooking.
It is a vivid memory from my past,
comforting and familiar.

As I am about to join in on the singing,
I am awakened by the sun shining in my window,
what a glorious day it will be,
for I have seen my dear grandparents one more time.

Truly visual and compelling, Amber. The contrast between the brick wall and its ominous fear and the welcome of the fire with the family's radiance and familiar welcome is tangible. Again, it strikes me that we can awaken to feel our most alive when we have had dream encounters of this lucid kind. As always, well told. xx

Hi Amber, some dreams aren't dreams at all. My sister used to visit long after she passed. A beautiful revelation of ties that bind and comfort. Thank you, Amber.

beautiful and inspired dream ... strange, just yesterday i had a dream sequence where my stepmother (deceased) was telling me "you father (deceased) is being a pain in the ass again, he doesn't remember where your grandparents are buried" ... a little thrown off i replied "neither do I" ... i think your visitation was much more consoling ...

Ah, dreams can excite, frighten, and, in a case such as you, Amber, a dream can give you wonderful feelings. Wonder what Stephen King dreams?
