To Be Peaceful Once Again

Summer rays so elusive,
counting days to return
to that lazy time
that I so embrace.

For months I toiled,
working through the summer haze,
yearning for the beach,
but just couldn't quite reach.

Now it's time to toil once again,
work is calling me back,
three months flew by,
as if it were a week.

I see as you mature,
time goes by more quickly,
that is when you must
begin to slow it down.

Embrace each day,
lanquish in each moment,
toil not so long,
and live with joy in your soul.

I plan on taking it slowly,
getting back into the rhythm
of my daily graces,
but enjoying and embracing

each person that I meet,
each flower that I smell,
and each sun ray that I feel
to find my inner peace.
