I Am Feeling Lost

by Amber "V" Moonstone

As the day draws to an end,
the sounds of silence
take over
and fills you with loneliness.

The evening rolls in,
darkness invades your soul,
grabbing like a frightened child
as if it will never let go.

Time flees,
seconds tick along,
night turns into dawn,
and the light rescues you.

The morning sunshine,
permeates warmth and light,
while the night's darkness
fades into gray.

You awaken with a renewed sense of being,
wanting to escape the darkness
of this buried loss.
Your heart bleeds for your soul mate.

Each day blends into the next,
rendering you helpless
to your aching soul,
hoping to one day find relief.

When that day arrives,
only lightness will prevail,
and darkness will be long gone
into the Universal flow of life.

hopefully, the more intense you feel lost, the closer you are to being found ...

"...and the light rescues you."
At the core of this poem, Amber,
and it makes so much 'sense' to me
deep down, i can identify with it well,
but as you say in the final lines there is
salvation at the last and tremendous optimism.
i like this a lot.

An excellent description of loneliness
A sad write for a beautiful poetess, pray the warm rays
Of a new day brings you happier thought
Love & peace be with you

Wonderful lines that describe that emotion but sad in it's plea for relief...I know so many who share that same sentiment. Well done.

I certainly hope you're not. This poem evokes the lost love that always comes at night when the world is dark and still.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. ~Kahlil Gibran~

Bring in the light dear Amber and push away all other things, let the joy flow... Lighten up your house and light candles and meditate on that which is good... "You know"

An ode to helplessness and loneliness and very well explained. There can be a darkness without it being nighttime and likewise there can be light in the midnight hour. It is all according to how we feel inside. I understand feeling lost, and have been there many times.
