Love the optimism expressed here, Amber. Can wholeheartedly relate although, a month or so on from solstice, those grey clouds are still keeping the full throttle of that ministering sun at bay on this side of the Pond. Hopefully things are all blue sky and brilliant sunshine with you! :) xx

There's much to be said for summer. But the autumnal equinox brings cool evenings, rustling leaves, and a temperate zone for love. Even two out of three ain't bad. :)

The further one lives north, the more important summer solstice is. Growing up in northern Wisconsin, it was always great to have long summer days to enjoy before the long period of winter with its very short days came all too soon.
