English should be our official language! There should be no doubt about it! Can we go to any foreign country and tell them to change their language to suit us? How can any reasonable thinking person, expect us to do so? Thanks for sharing Paul!...ET

English should be the official language of America. When foreigners immigrated to America they should follow its traditional language and its culture, no matter where the foreigners are coming from. A country should never be swayed of its own tradition and cultures.

Colonel Riley presents a strong and valid argument. We are no longer a melting pot. We are a country dissected into communes, villages, neighborhoods, and communities of various nationalities and cultures who form their little pods where they carry on life as they knew it in their homeland. The point here is that a common language is needed for the sake of communication. A great deal of money is spent in public schools (ESOL Programs) to help foreign students learn to speak English. It is for their benefit so they can merge into the social system of the country they live in and interact with them.

A true LICIT LEGAL CONGRESS would veto the BILL, not vote YES or NO. Those that voted YES ignored the COVENANT on the matter, and those that voted NO showed that they qualify to become a member of THE MORONITE ACADEMY OF THE ANTI-LAWS AMERICANS.

On the ILLEGAL ALLIENS MATTERS, one point to consider is that an illegal allien is one that has an expired VISA. The one that enters any U.S Jurisdiction without a VISA is an INVADER subject to NATIONAL SECURITY AND MARTIAL LAWS.

WE HAD AND HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK ANY OF OUR OFFICIAL LANGUAGES ALREDAY.

THE CITIZENRY HAS THE OBLIGATION TO KNOW THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

So, why don't we start now asking people to obey the rules of the English language, and beg the literati not to violate it? Wouldn't that show that we honor "OUR RIGHT TO SPEAK ENGLISH"?

Paul, this is America and English should be our official language...this means "no" disrespect for any other nationality in our country but this is our country and "we" have our rights and thats it! A very nice write & I agree with you totally!

I agree with you whole heartedly, and in our state (Arizona) English was voted the official language. However, that cannot be enforced, because more people speak Spanish around here than English. English is the official language, and always was, but you can't arrest people for speaking in their native tongue.
