One has to ponder, what's going on?
For things here seem not quite the same;
A message sent or a tale's been told,
Is the ghastly beast playing his game?
Maybe just one's imagination,
But something feels not quite cricket;
Turn it over to God's loving hands,
In His time, the problem, He'll lick it.
For now, simply get up and move on,
Take one day and one breath at a time;
Time has a way of healing all wounds,
Before long, everything will be fine.
Thank You Lord, for another fine day,
For all the blessings that You send down;
Friendship like Yours is never ending,
While trusting in You, one cannot drown.
Paul, I like the metaphor of the cricket reference. Especially in light of current events. That makes this poem of contemporary significance. Of course your poem also brings to mind, when in the night no crickets chirp, literature, film, and nature have taught us that something is amiss, beware! ~ Starman
Hadn't heard that expression, "something feels not quite cricket." I love it!! He will make it right, as Eileen (below) said, indeed He will - and then all will be harmonious again. =] Well done, Paul.
This exceptional book, Celebrating the Gift of Being Alive, has the perfect thoughts and words for birthdays, graduations, engagements, marriages, and any life celebration or family tradition.
I believe in the old saying AND THIS TOO SHALL PASS. It has helped me on many occasions.
Blessings and love,

He can make it right!;-) Excellent Paul
Beautiful and simple. I like the last line, "Friendship like Yours is never-ending, while trusting in You, one cannot drown."
