He read ‘LEARN ABOUT POETRY,’
It was a gift from his daughter;
So, he began to write some things,
This "art" he started to slaughter.

Yes, you can learn it from a book,
If it’s entrenched deep in your heart;
But if you’ve never done it before,
A book is not the best place to start.

Before you waste any money,
Look down in your soul for a verse;
Many known poets have done it,
From the best right down to the worst.

Poetry has limitless fans,
And diversified they can be;
Pick up a pen; write what you please,
Let all your words simply flow free.

You don’t have to use syllabi,
The words don’t even need to rhyme;
You can do it in prose or verse,
Whatever you're feeling will be fine.

Come on my friends, give it a try,
Poetry is a peaceful art;
Spread some inspiration around,
As long as it comes from your heart.

We can make this old world better,
If we all write with honesty;
Using what's right in our own hearts,
Use the power God gave to thee.
