Just took a walk down to the lake,
The surface is as smooth as glass;
Sun rising over the mountains,
Loons nestled safely in tall grass.

A doe to my right getting a drink,
Knows that she has nothing to fear;
Two swans paddle closer to shore,
Seem unafraid of drawing near.

A soft breeze caresses my face,
The air is so gentle and light;
As wildlife moves all about,
Making this old world feel so right.

Peace and contentment all around,
Reminding me how life should be;
These intermingling species,
Learned to live together, yet free.

Lessons in life are everywhere,
If we'll open our eyes and see;
A much better world is out there,
If we learn to live and let be.

My friends, have a wondeful day,
Contentment is my wish for you;
May your trails be as smooth as glass,
Be happy in all that you do.
