Been a long time since I spoke up,
But now, I have something to say;
Your leaders have really screwed up,
They’re destroying the U.S.A.
But to tell you the real truth,
They haven’t done it all alone;
Each and every American,
Has a hand in killing our home.
You only care about yourself,
If you don‘t care where something‘s made;
You’re lacking patriotic pride,
Now your economy has paid.
Americans losing jobs and homes,
And you, my friends, are the ones to blame;
Don’t point your fingers at Washington,
Why don't you hang your heads in shame?
Bring my old slogan back again,
The one made famous years ago;
In times of war it helped to save,
And THIS IS WAR, I’ll have you know !
Yes! My friends, again, I WANT YOU !
But this time in a different way;
FELLOW AMERICANS, I WANT YOU,
TO BUY WHAT’S MADE IN THE U.S.A.
Now, let me make this plain and simple,
Buying foreign is just like treason;
Don’t you make up a single excuse,
For there is no logical reason.
If you want to save your country today,
Then you’d better listen to Uncle Sam;
Pulling together, we can all do it,
It’s really the best STIMULUS PLAN.
Paul, I love your patriotic spirit, but the facts Karen stated are true too! This country is practically owned by other nations and especially China! We also have Americans working in foreign countries and their natives feel that we shouldn't be there either.
This exchange that started years ago ccontinues and there is no way just buying American is going to work until we reverse the trend and that seems highly unlikely to happen. Foreigners working here now married with children that feel like this is their country, how do we change that. It's a lot more involved than just buying American made cars.However you do excellent poems on the subject!
Oh Yes indeed. Buy American has always been the way to go. We do, but there are those other items that are being crammed down our throats, leaving no alternative because the American shops have all closed. Cars, always bought Chevy, the RV is Ford. Our American house, assembled by illegals, clothing is made in China, fresh fruits and vegetables come up from Mexico (except for the ones I grow in my garden). Shoes, your guess is as good as mine. Electronics "anything" try finding American, let alone buying American. Pet food was all "Science Diet" as they produce here in the USA, but got too pricey. Switched to "Blue" also produced here. All other brands buy their grain, oats from overseas, ie: the pet food scare. I believe that we still have things "assembled" here, but that is about all that is left. I even buy material to make most of my own clothing. Dirty little secret is we ship the raw materials to Japan and China and they send us back the finished product. Even the health care industry has been stung. Try to see an MD Doctor??? You have people calling themselves Doctors, but when you look closer they are "PA" (Physician Assistants) and "OD" (Osteopathic Doctors, which in reality are men and women who FAILED Med School or Dropped out). The rest are filled with "doctors" from India who did not even go to med school here in the United States. How do I know this??? From personal experience searching for an MD Doctor and my brother is an Administrator at a New York Hospital. You tell me because it is not for lack of trying, HOW! HOW when all there is, is a sea of apathy and stupidity????? Guess you pushed a few buttons, huh?
