I originally wrote this prayer on November 24, 2003, while stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. It most definitely still applies today.
You are as You have always been,
Our Creator, our Guide and Light;
The One and only God on high,
You make the moon and stars shine bright.
All nations on earth belong to You,
As do all creatures great and small;
But our world right now is quite the mess,
My Lord, I don't understand it all.
May the Spirit fill us with Your light,
Lord, can't You help us all get along?
Without You we are nothing at all,
Won't You show us what's right from wrong?
You did this thousands of years ago,
It should not need repeating, I know;
We need Your Divine guidance just now,
For Your children are feeling quite low.
Have mercy on us once again,
Please teach us all how not to hate;
Your love is needed desperately,
Or is it already much too late?
Send Jesus, Your Son, just once more,
This time, not to die on a cross;
To guide us as we travel this way,
With Christ at the lead, all's not lost.
I ask You this through Jesus Christ,
Our Light and our Savior for sure;
I pray I'm not asking too much,
This world surely could use His cure!
Thank You God, for hearing my prayer,
And for giving me faith in Your way;
There is still hope for this world of ours,
If we'll just get together and pray.
And if need be, my life I will give,
In exchange for the ones that I love;
Then I'll watch over them from Heaven,
With Jesus by my side up above.
Oh the depth of love and compassion I feel in these written words so profoundly written with hope that You Heavenly Father would " Guide Us"

Beautiful write with a message that still stands today; too bad many have forgotten to count our blessings and rely on God to get us through! No wonder we're in the shape we're in; we need to get back with God and have a spiritual revival in our country! God help us all!!

Beautiful Paul, such a shame that greed has taken over so much and so many that thy forget what He has taught us from day one. To love and respect and accept all that He has given. Thank you for sharing Paul. A great write.
