Down and depressed, I was hurting,
Lost in the darkness of the night;
Seemed aimlessly I was searching,
For the pathway to Heaven's light.

Then the sky began to brighten,
I thought I heard the sound of wings;
But little did I know back then,
Just how much joy that they would bring.

Then from that moment and onward,
Many new friendships did we start;
You've helped me face all of my fears,
And helped repair this wounded heart.

I will forever thank the Lord,
For the gift He sent from above;
Never again will I wander,
For He sheltered me with your love.

I write of my many feelings,
I pen all that I want to say;
Looking for hope in all your words,
For acceptance along the way.

I thank God for you, my Den friends,
You are so caring and so kind;
All the loving moments we share,
Are no longer so hard to find.
