Wonderful poem, and the example/comparison quite remarkable. I know what you mean here and it is indeed a treasure to have the devoted love and affection of a dog. It s unique from other animals.

What a wonderful write, I had that special friend indeed. My Boomer came into my life by chance, not expecting her, but nevertheles loving her, she became my best friend, giving unconditional love, no strife, expecting only friendship in return. I'll never forget the warm greetings that she gave in the evenings, the protections she provided, when I fell sick in the front yard and fainted, she was by my side the entire time and there when I awoke. Walked with me to the garden, protected me from unexpected visitors such as the dreaded copper heads, and enjoyed taking long walks, hated baths, and taking worm meds. A friend indeed that I miss so very much, it's been just over a year since her unexpected death. She was a wonderful friend of eleven years...I have yet been able to buy another dog, I think I'll just wait and see what kind of dog that God sends back into my life. I too think that there will be a special place in heaven for those special friends and pets. What a touching write my friend...enjoyed every word of it!

Good Morning, Paul. I had 3 German Shepherds when I lived in NY that are now gone. Now because of my bad legs I have a couple of cats. Different animals but still great pets. I liked this writing allot.

This is a beautiful positive poem.
I wrote my poem, "A Dog's Life" out of the painful shame some dog "owners" create...but dogs only love.
Man's best friend.
Every day can be beautiful if we love like a dog.
You can't say enough about them...and God's reflection is the best insight I've heard. (Great evidence too.)
