About seven inches of pure white snow fell on us in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire yesterday inspiring me to write the following.
The first snowfall of the season,
Made ground and trees glisten in white;
Brought gleeful play for the children,
And hopes that our Christmas is white.
In His wisdom, God set the stage, Christmas will be here in awhile;
He brings our thoughts closer to Him,
With snow that's as pure as the Child.
Thank You, Lord, for this first snowfall,
Its meaning to us is quite clear;
You've cleaned the earth You created,
Reminding us, there's nothing to fear.
One day we shall all be pure again,
And all that You ask is we believe;
We just need to take that leap of faith,
Then all Your blessings we will receive.
