The Old Man of the Mountain was a sign placed here by God for all to wonder at.
So, I figured, 'Why not create something special, something different this Christmas by writing a short poetic story combining these two wonders.' I hope you all enjoy and may God bless.
The Old Man came to me tonight,
For he had a message to share;
One he asked me to pass along,
At this special time of the year.
He told me, "The angels are singing,
Of the birth we still celebrate;
The night the Lord came to live on earth,
Though we don't know the exact date."
He said, "Look upwards to Heaven,
Call on the Lord to free your soul;
Turn your worries over to Him,
The gift He brought never grows old.
"Glorious peace with Him in Heaven,
The precious gift of eternal life;
An end to all pain and suffering,
Never again having fear or strife.
"May Christmas fill you with peace and joy,
Celebrate the day He came to earth;
Rejoice in Him and share His blessings,
Born to die at His moment of birth."
Then like a ghost, the Old Man was gone,
But his message was very clear;
A Merry Christmas he wishes us,
And of course, a Blessed New Year.
The greatest gift ever given,
The greatest sacrifice ever made,
It shows how much Jesus loves us,
With His life all our debts He paid.
Paul, thank you for such a wonderful poem!This is so beautiful and filled with the true meaning of Christmas.I hope you have a great Christmas!
With Love,
Cindy

A significant line here is, "The gift He brought never grows old."
This is true, now let us think about all tjose presents under the tree. How long will they last? How long before we discard them? Perhaps a month, a year or two or three? The gift of Jesus never grows old. This is a fantastic discovery where no other gift on earth can compare. Amen
Beautiful lines that tell of the Greatest Gift we were ever given - the birth, life, death and resurrection of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ! Even the mountains, all of Nature praises His Name. =] Now why can't many of us, who were created in His image, praise Him as well? You remind us powerfully. Thank you, and well done!
Beautiful poem, perfect in every way! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you too, Paul; may 2010 be much kinder to you and your family! You deserve it! Well done!
