I went for a walk this morning,
On the shores of Winona Lake;
Me and my German Shepherd, Luv,
The scenery wasn't hard to take.

I needed time to talk with God,
To clear up the thoughts in my mind;
To put my weary soul at rest,
Peace for my heart I longed to find.

The sun rose over the mountains,
Overcoming the dark of night;
Bringing its warmth over the land,
Making this new day clear and bright.

I stopped and looked up in the sky,
And humbly I began to pray;
I spilled my heart and soul to Him,
Asking that He show me the way.

Then I felt God's healing power,
The message He sent was quite clear;
"In your heart, you did the right thing,
Have faith in me, you need not fear.

"No one righteous walks among you,
Not one of you is free from sin;
What matters is, I know the truth,
And all will know it in the end."

I felt the hurt then drain away,
Knowing I had done nothing wrong;
The words that I write come from God,
Helping us all keep our faith strong.

Thank You my Lord, I love You so,
You have again restored my soul;
Help me not to doubt Your power,
Keep my faith strong as I grow old.
