I find walking or driving through nature, one of the most rewarding things I can do to restore my soul. When put in the proper perspective it is so easy to see just how awesome God is and how much He has given us.
The day was cold, yet near perfect,
So, I thought that I’d take a ride;
To look at God’s many blessings,
Spread out across the countryside.
Down the valleys between the hills,
I drove along the mountain roads;
I took to deserted cow paths,
Where nary a soul ever goes.
Way back in a hidden pasture,
Blanketed with new fallen snow;
White and pristine and yet untouched,
I spied a deer with fawn in tow.
God’s wondrous sights are so many,
Snow covered trees and frozen streams;
I know when it’s my time to sleep,
I’ll have so many pleasant dreams.
Countless wonders everywhere,
Created for us all around;
And all we have to do is look,
His treasures are there, to be found.
“Thank You, Dear Lord, for Your wonders,
You offer us all peace on Earth;
Like eagles that soar through the clouds,
You give to us meaning and worth.”
I love what you share with us here, Paul. When we are alone, communing with the wonders of the natural world with which we are lavished, and with our God, then it often feels as if the whole "show" has been put on just for us and we are the sole witness and beneficiaries of it! Then the awe is just...well, AWESOME! Lovely verses straight from your heart and soul as a Valentine to a loving, caring and indulgent God. xx
So glad you got such contentment and enjoyment out of your ride. I like to go on summer nights when it is hot. God's word is miraculous at that, and I love all that he gave us.

Thank you Paul. This is a great reminder for all. Yes, it is a wake up call. We should praiise and "Thank the Lord" for the trees, the widlife, and the spectacular waterfalls. God is great! God created the wonder of it all. Amen.
