A slight revision to
"I NEVER KNOW" from my first book,
TRAILS END POETRY.
I hope you enjoy and God bless.
I still don't know when the words will come,
Yet, I know they come to me from on high;
One moment I can't write anything,
Then suddenly, the keys start to fly.
They may come to me in bed at night,
Or while driving somewhere in my truck;
But this I know with sure certainty,
The words are not a matter of luck.
I might be taking a little walk,
Simply taking a morning shower;
It doesn't matter what the time is,
They're sent to me at any hour.
Lord, I humbly ask You this question,
What should I do with this gift from You?
Jesus, Your answer is clear to me,
Spread word of all the good that You do.
Thank You Lord, I know what to do,
Use Your words to share Your sweet love;
Knowing that those who will heed them,
Will live with You in Heaven above.
I really appreciate this write Paul...I can identify

Paul! Thanks!
I agree paul. Thought and ideas come at the most inopportune times. I've found that if I don't write them on paper , they are forver lost...A great sharing....M
You are so right about the way ideas escape or inundate. The shower for me, for whatever reason, seems to attract the most, although the middle of the night special deliveries are not uncommon. Who am I to question their source? Patrick
Your poem "I Still Don't Know" is the most meaningful poem I have read on Authors Den.
The bottom lines are well worth repeating...
"Thank You Lord, I know what to do,
Use Your words to share Your sweet love;
Knowing that those who will heed them,
Will live with You in Heaven above."
What more then can we ask for?
Can it get any better than Heaven?
Very nice. I feel it too - the gift of expressive rhyme that never runs out of time. . .surely a Gift from above that often fills with sonnets of Love.
