What do the doctors know anyway?
It's just an educated guess, duh!
God's answer is indisputable.
I place all my faith and trust in Him.
I just got back home from the doctors,
I knew I shouldn't have gone at all;
They told me something is wrong inside,
But who cares about them? It's God's call.
If it isn't broken - don't fix it,
Keep their opinions out of my life;
No doctors know me better than He,
Now they've caused me this worry and strife.
It's too late, they've already screwed me,
They told the DMV I can't drive;
They've taken away one of the tools,
One of the things that keeps me alive.
And it's not like I can ride a bike,
With two worn knees, a fake hip and more;
Guess my freedom is no longer free,
Unless I take a cross country bus tour.
Lord, I have a better idea,
Please, no more of these medical things;
If You'll have me, I'd like to come Home,
Heaven's the perfect place to wear wings.
Dear Lord, I place all my trust in You,
As the storm is growing inside me;
If this should be the final deluge,
At TRAIL'S END it's You I will see.
No Paul,you are not defeated easily! Actually I find Greyhound and Amtrak (especially Amtrak) a wonderful way to travel. Never allow anything to hold you down....
This is wonderfully expressed. Pray that your suffering here on earth will be minimal whenever the TRUE time or hour comes, which no one but the Doctor above actually knows. The rest is guesswork. Hugs
SOMETIMES WHAT WE THINK IS TRAIL'S END IS JUST THE BEGINNING. BUT I UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL, WHAT WITH YOU HAVING BEEN INDEPENDENT MOST OF YOUR LIFE, BUT PAUL, IT'S ALL RIGHT TO HAVE TO DO THINGS A LITTLE DIFFERENT. REMEMBER THAT GOD IN THE GOOD TIMES... IS STILL GOD IN THE BAD TIMES AND YOU ARE STILL A VERY BLESSED INDIVIDUAL. MAKE A HONEST LIST OF ALL THE BLESSINGS IN YOUR LIFE AND COMPARE IT WITH A LIST OF THE THINGS YOU THINK ARE NOT BLESSINGS. I GUARANTEE YOU YOUR BLESSINGS WILL FAR OUTWAY YOUR HARDSHIPS. THIS IS THE TIME TO PRAY AND LEAN ON YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR AS YOU NEVER HAVE BEFORE. TRUST HIM...NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS AND AS FAR AS YOU BEING READY TO GO HOM IS CONCERNED; WHEN THE LORD IS READY FOR YOU TO COME HOME HE WILL TAKE YOU THERE...UNTIL THEN...CHIP UP AND 'PRESS ON'. One day soon I shall have to face that reality and I'm not looking forward to it. You have made the right decision in placing all your trust in God but remember He may have other ideas as to what you may still accomplish here on earth in His behalf. Deep feelings in this insightful poem.
