We poets are mere amateurs,
For what we do, we do for love;
Most of the words that we write down,
Are granted to us from above.

We take no credit for ourselves,
Our writings are not ours to own;
Although we may copyright them,
They're simply seeds that God has sown.

Can't take credit for what we do,
For to do so would just be vain;
That would be like giving nature,
Full credit for making it rain.

No, we are not philosophers,
All we do is write His words down;
No recognition should we seek,
Save for helping to end a frown.

Be proud to be an amateur,
Means what we do, we do for love;
Done because of faith and belief,
That this gift comes from God above.
